About me
Dr. Nanae Baldauff is a strategic analyst and adviser with deep subject matter expertise on Japan's security and defense policy, and space industry as a subset of defense industry.
Nanae is a sought-after speaker, writer, lecturer, presenter, grounded in policy and research who leverages academic, government, security and defense, and business contacts covering three continents - Asia, Europe, and North America.
Being the first ever Japanese national to hold a fellowship position at the NATO Defense College (Rome) as well as the inaugural Indo-Pacific Research Fellow of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, Nanae provides authoritative insights on policy direction, industrial cooperation, and geopolitical risks.
Nanae is passionate about connecting innovative and technological industries - especially Japanese space tech companies - with defense authorities of like-minded countries.
Nanae is Senior Associate Fellow at NATO Defense College, Associate Fellow at UNU Institute on Comparative Regional Integration Studies (Belgium), sits on the board of the International Security Industry Council of Japan.
Nanae is originally from Tokyo, resident of Luxembourg, married with two daughters.
